Environmental Achievements

  • Implemented an energy management system based on ISO 50001 at German sites in Rietheim-Weilheim and Böttingen to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
  • Created a global Energy Management Competence Center (EMCC) to implement energy management at all production sites.
  • Installed a photovoltaic system on the roof of the Development and Innovation Center (EIZ) generating up to 100 kW of electricity.
  • Used LEDs with daylight control, reducing electricity requirements by 60% compared to conventional lighting.
  • Utilized environmentally friendly concrete core activation for heating and cooling instead of energy-intensive air conditioning.
  • Operated a combined heat and power plant reducing annual CO2 emissions by around 100 tonnes.

Social Achievements

  • Awarded the Marquardt Technician Prize and the “Woman and Technology” sponsorship award.
  • Supported several social institutions, including the Tuttlingen women’s shelter.
  • Provided financial assistance to the county hospital in Sibiu, Romania to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Donated face masks to the district of Tuttlingen and provided several hundred thousand masks to facilities at cost price.
  • Started its own production of medical protective masks.
