Reporting Period: 2019

Environmental Metrics

Climate Goals & Targets

Environmental Challenges

  • Lack of walkable, blockable, quality hotels near the Lynnwood Convention Center (LCC), limiting the attraction of larger, overnight-oriented business.
  • Difficulty and time-consuming nature of travel around the Seattle metro area affecting event location decisions.
  • Limited space and booking availability at the LCC, resulting in missed opportunities.
  • Current clientele primarily consists of localized business, generating limited overnight hotel business and evening restaurant spending.
Mitigation Strategies
  • Recommended expansion scenario includes a connected 250-room hotel with function space to address the hotel issue and create a more attractive event package.
  • Strategic location of the LCC, offering convenient access and free parking, mitigates travel challenges.
  • Expansion will increase space and booking availability, capturing latent demand and missed opportunities.
  • Expansion will attract more out-of-market business, generating significant overnight and higher spending.
