Environmental Achievements

  • Reduced Scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions by over 70% since 2000 while growing the business by over 270% and doubling the number of employees.
  • Invested £2.5m in a private wire from Lakeside Energy from Waste facility to create a fully electrified treatment process for refuse derived fuel (RDF), saving over 700 tonnes of CO2e emissions per year.
  • Installed a 100kw solar panel system at headquarters, providing around a third of the office’s energy consumption annually.
  • Launched the UK’s first proven nationwide inhaler return and recycling scheme.
  • Helped Ascot Racecourse increase overall recycling by 20% at Royal Ascot, saving 126,560 kgs of CO2e in June 2023 alone.

Social Achievements

  • Expanded apprenticeship opportunities from three in 2022 to nearly 50 in 2023.
  • Invested £25,000 in 2020 and a further £10,000 in 2023 to develop and improve GrunHub, an internal communications platform.
  • Established Safety Champions across all sites, providing health and safety training and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Supported employment opportunities for prisoners under the Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) scheme, leading to at least one full-time employment placement.
  • Donated £35,000 to The Lockleaze Youth and Play Space and over £13,000 to Bridge Street Community Garden.
