Environmental Achievements

  • Measures to address climate change built into project activities, including development of sustainable and climate-resilient value chains, promotion of renewable energy and water management, capacity-building for sustainable natural resource and climate risk management, and support for climate-resilient agroforestry systems.

Social Achievements

Governance Achievements

  • Strengthened oversight and capacity-building; established a single programme management unit (PMU) for all IFAD projects at the ministry level, supported by departmental coordination units (DCU); established a multisector technical group to identify specific agribusiness policy and regulatory reforms; facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogue to identify and propose solutions to existing constraints and barriers to sector investment; strengthened FO managerial, financial, marketing and technical capacities.
