- Problem of ever-growing sugarcane price with unmatched sugar selling price
- Behaviour of monsoon, an uncontrollable factor, determines the prospects of sugar industry
- Availability of sugarcane for crushing, price realisation on sale of sugar, and the controls imposed by the governments are the major risks faced by the sugar industry. These factors have direct impact on the financial liquidity and profitability of the Company.
Mitigation Strategies
- Steps taken by the Company for reduction of the secured liabilities are expected to materialise soon.
- The Board of Directors has approved sale of Dhenkanal Sugar and Distillery units in Orissa State and the Soya Unit at Marchinaickenpalayam, Pollachi, besides the third floor of the corporate office building at Coimbatore, subject to the approval of the Members of the Company.
