  • Glasgow ranked 8th on the Global Destination Sustainability Index and 1st in Western Europe.
  • Glasgow achieved Silver Sustainable Food Places accreditation.

Social Achievements

  • Online accessibility guides were reviewed for over 200 Glasgow venues. A new accessible guide was created for the Burrell Collection.
  • An Accessibility workshop was hosted for city hotels.
  • Changes were introduced to tourism industry groups to ensure inclusivity.
  • A photoshoot with a disabled travel blogger was hosted at various locations.

Governance Achievements

  • 77% of member PCO and DMCs have a publicly shared sustainability plan.
  • Glasgow Convention Bureau continues to be a signatory of the Net Zero Carbon Events Initiative Pledge and committed to the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism and Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency.

  • 70% of city centre hotel rooms to be signed up to a green accreditation scheme by March 2023
