Environmental Achievements
- Spent US$511 million on environmental initiatives, a 14% increase year-on-year. Completed auxiliary work for the modernization of the Ilyich Steel sinter plant, reducing dust emissions by 90% and sulfur dioxide emissions by 46%. Upgraded gas cleaning facilities at Ilyich Steel blast furnaces, cutting dust emissions by over 65%. Increased share of scrap consumed by steelmakers to 20%, up 1 percentage point year-on-year.
