Environmental Achievements

  • Achieved a 17.2% absolute reduction in carbon emissions over two years, despite record port trade growth. Received the Carbon Trust’s Best in Carbon Management Award.
  • Upgraded to the new ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) standard and achieved recertification.
  • Increased cruise waste recycling from 23% in 2016 to 40% in 2017.
  • Dover’s bathing water quality rated ‘good’.

Social Achievements

  • Launched the Port of Dover Community Fund, awarding over £100,000 in grants to 11 organizations, benefiting nearly 8,000 people. Total grants awarded since inception reached nearly £421,000, supporting 56 local organizations.
  • 13% reduction in injury accidents across the Port, and a 38% reduction in injury accidents affecting Port of Dover Group compared to 2016.
  • Dover Western Docks Revival (DWDR) project created employment, provided training and education, and supported community events and initiatives. Local economic benefit of the construction phase reached £103 million.
