Environmental Achievements

  • Two Manhattan West expected to achieve LEED Gold certification through enhanced energy efficiency, improved indoor air quality, high-performance glazing, regional sourcing for recycled materials and other innovative green initiatives.

  • Bay Adelaide Centre North expected to achieve LEED Platinum certification and includes a glazed curtain wall with a metal panel envelope system and best-in-class operational, environmental and life-safety systems.

Social Achievements

  • The Edmund offers a variety of innovative residential floor plans and outdoor green spaces and thoughtful amenities, including coworking space, fitness, extensive common areas, entertainment and game lounge. There is also a grocery store, pet spa, bike shop and storage, and other retail offerings at the lower floors.
  • Bay Adelaide Centre North provides 400 bicycle storage facilities and 30 preferred parking for electric, hybrid, and carpooling vehicles.

Governance Achievements

  • Brookfield Asset Management (BAM), BPY’s parent company, became a signatory to the Net Zero Asset Managers (“NZAM”) initiative, formalizing our support for the goal of net zero greenhouse gas (“GHG’) emissions by 2050 or sooner.
  • BAM is also a supporter of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (“TCFD”) and this year continued our efforts to align with the TCFD recommendations by embedding climate change considerations into our strategy through our net zero commitment.
  • In 2022, BAM formalized its commitment to strong ESG management practices by adopting a formal Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) policy.

Long-term Goals:
  • Net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner
Medium-term Goals:
  • Approximately one third of BAM’s business will be put on an emissions reduction pathway by 2030, resulting in an approximate 66% absolute emissions reduction for in-scope GHG emissions versus baseline year.
