Environmental Achievements

  • Developed SourceZone®, a technology to remediate PFAS contaminated soil, removing up to 99% of PFAS mass from soil.
  • Rehabilitated the former fire training facility at Fiskville, Victoria, excavating over 150,000m3 of soil and treating over 54 million litres of PFAS impacted water.
  • Transitioned passenger light vehicles to hybrid options, delivering over 70 hybrids since 2021.
  • Introduced fully electric larger vehicles into the fleet, including an industry-first electric Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) Truck.
  • Achieved a 20 percent reduction in Depot electricity use through LED lighting upgrades on the Western Roads Upgrade project.

Social Achievements

  • Partnered with JobQuest for 12 years on the NSW Land and Housing contract, employing over 450 staff from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Spent 13% of the total contract value with social enterprises on the NSW Land and Housing contract.
  • Developed a framework to support Māori and Pacifika Islander engagement in New Zealand.
  • Engaged with local iwi (tribe) in Waimārama, New Zealand, to ensure respect for cultural significance during a fibre installation project.
