Environmental Achievements

  • Seven Dutch hotels received BREEAM In-Use certification.
  • Planted 10,000 trees through a partnership with WeForest.
  • Expanded waste recycling to include organic and plastic waste in Dutch properties.
  • Installed solar panels on the roof of TSH Bologna hotel (kWh potential tbd).

Social Achievements

  • Provided 50 families with hotel-cooked meals for the winter holidays.
  • Granted 10 TSH Scholarships to Codam students.
  • Hosted 111 workshops and training sessions for TSH employees.
  • Launched a company-wide Self ID survey to track diversity and inclusion.
  • Organized the first Tech4Good Conference.

  • Introduced an Environmental Management System (EMS) based on ISO 14001 standards.

  • Improved GRESB scores for standing assets (from 67 to 75) and assets under development (from 63 to 86).

  • Reduce residual waste by 40% in all Dutch locations (compared to 2018 baseline).

Environmental Challenges

  • Inaccurate waste data from waste handlers prevented reporting on waste reduction targets.
  • COVID-19 restrictions impacted food waste reduction efforts and energy consumption targets.
  • Flight reductions due to COVID-19 did not accurately reflect normal business operations.
  • Student community engagement on sustainability presented challenges.
Mitigation Strategies
  • Continued working with waste handlers to improve data accuracy.
  • Included all hotels' energy use in the report and planned to set Science Based Targets (SBTs).
  • Maintained focus on flight emissions reduction with a revised target for the next year.
  • Conducted a sustainability survey to understand student perspectives and tailor future projects.
