Environmental Achievements

  • Upgraded to a Tier 3 data centre at TM One, Brickfields in April 2021 which has a Green Building Index certification and an intelligent power meter to manage power consumption.
  • Replaced the lighting system for the whole building to completely new LED lightings.
  • Encourages employees to utilise tele-conferencing, emails, instant messaging for communication purposes and store soft copies of documents instead of printed documents thus reducing the carbon footprint.
  • Efforts are being made to recycle office waste like shredded paper, plastic bottles, cartridges and cans.

Social Achievements

  • Provides a competitive remuneration package including medical, dental and optical benefits to all employees and offers the same opportunities for staff from the same category with no gender discrimination.
  • Organised fire drill yearly.
  • Engaged the services of a pest control company to fumigate the office six times a year.
  • Informed all employees on actions deemed as sexual harassment and provided reporting channels.
  • Organised Basic Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED training.
  • Organised Buka Puasa among staff and family.

Environmental Challenges

  • Challenging operating environment marked by prolonged high interest rates, volatile currency exchange, a weak ringgit against the American dollar emanating from the combined spill overs from the geopolitical tensions triggered by the conflict between Ukraine and Russia and concerns surrounding the economic slowdown in China.
  • Security Risks and System Disruptions such as computer viruses, hacking, fraud, blackouts caused by interrupted electricity supply, system outages, and disruption to Internet services.
  • Rapid changes in technological developments.
  • mySalam Outsourcing Services Agreement expiring on 31st December 2023.
Mitigation Strategies
  • Setting up antivirus, firewalls and providing disaster recovery for its data and source codes through back-up media and offsite disaster recovery center, upgrading its antivirus protection and reinforcing its firewall on a frequent basis.
  • Constantly conducts research and development activities to keep its products and services relevant to its clients.
  • Migrated to a Tier 3 certified data centre at TM One in FY2021 and the acquisition of servers and other computer equipment in FY2022.
  • Has an agreement with a company whereby we could move our essential operations to their centre at any time giving short notice.
  • Proprietary source codes for each application are backed up at each stage of the development, and are then saved and stored offsite.
  • Client proposed extension of mySalam Outsourcing Services Agreement.
