Environmental Achievements

  • Partnered with Georgia Power to build a state-of-the-art, high-tech and eco-friendly community in Atlanta (Altus at the Quarter) featuring rooftop solar panels, in-home battery energy storage, and energy-efficient building features. Pulte homes are up to 30 percent more energy efficient than the average resale home.
  • Introduced photovoltaic solar panels from Tesla Energy to a number of townhome projects, with one division applying them to 36% of closings in 2017 (1 Megawatt of solar electric capacity).
  • Launched four new communities in Northern California with 100% electric power, zero gas, and hybrid electric heat pump water heaters.
  • Opened their first LEED Silver community in Northern California (24-townhome unit called Marquis in Menlo Park).

Social Achievements

  • Established an emergency assistance program providing financial support up to $3,500 for employees facing hardships.
  • Raised $250,000 in less than 48 hours from corporate and employee donations to help teammates affected by Hurricane Harvey.
  • Expanded diversity and inclusion training portfolio and revised Board of Directors charter to focus on building a more diverse board.
  • Offered enhanced paid and unpaid leave of absence programs, including expanded parental leave benefits.
  • Provided a $250 incentive for eligible employees and their spouses for obtaining their annual wellness exam.
  • Awarded an estimated $17 million in mortgage-free homes to deserving veterans and their families through the Built to Honor™ program.
  • Gave over $500,000 in donations in 2017 through the Company’s Matching Gifts Program.

  • Established a more permanent and consistent support structure to aid employees in need.
  • Revised Board of Directors charter to include criteria for selecting new board members with a focus on diversity (age, gender, race, ethnicity, and professional experience).
  • Implemented Corporate Governance Guidelines addressing Director responsibilities, qualification requirements, committee structures, and diversification objectives.

  • Developed Pulte Construction Standards (PCS) and conducts routine audits (internal and third-party) to ensure consistent adherence.
