Lack of access to detailed information in supply chains with a vast network of smallholder farmers living in remote areas.
Fragmented rural agricultural supply chains with numerous intermediaries diluting farmer value and market information.
Anaemia and malnutrition prevalent in Andean communities due to poverty and lack of access to healthcare.

Implementation of Olam Farmer Information System (OFIS) for data collection and analysis.
Introduction of Olam Direct (OD) to disintermediate supply chains and connect farmers directly with Olam Agri.
Implementation of the Nutrition Programme to combat iron deficiency through training and promotion of quinoa consumption.
Kilo per ton initiative to promote quinoa and chia consumption among farming communities.
