Environmental Challenges

  • Decline in bulk commodity prices hampering the Group’s move to expand bulk commodity trading.
  • The world economy has entered a period of deep adjustment in the aftermath of the financial crisis and is experiencing a difficult and bumpy recovery while in China, an arduous transformation of economic growth pattern is underway. These will continue to weigh on the international energy and raw materials prices.
Mitigation Strategies
  • The Group will keep a keen eye on the macro environment and proactively implement our development strategy. In 2013, the Group will be focused on bulk commodity trading to develop a unique profit making model and core competitiveness whilst stepping up efforts for acquisition of upstream mineral resources, with a view to growing into a comprehensive trader of bulk commodity and energy with resources, diverse financing channels, strong risk resistance capacity and sustainable development capability. Meanwhile, the Group will give full play to the special status of the ultimate controlling shareholder China Chengtong Holdings Group Limited (“CCHG”) among central government-owned companies and its advantage, to further explore the possibility of relevant resources injection.
