Environmental Achievements

  • Reduced the size of products, making them more compact, less consumer of raw materials and whose transport is less expensive
  • Extended the lifespan of products thanks to the quality of the software developed by the group, allowing to optimize the lifespan of mechanical and electronic components
  • Design of terminal equipment that can find a second life with a new customer, when the technical standards imposed on the Group allow it, in particular concerning the protection of television works
  • Implementation of decoder renovation services, so that they can be reused by other users. Most of these renovation services are carried out in the country of use, thus limiting the carbon footprint
  • Use of wireless communication protocols (such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) to limit the use of cables, which weigh heavily in carbon balances
  • Generalization of "low power", allowing to put products into deep sleep when they are not used and thus limit the consumption of current by the end user
  • Priority use of product transport by boat or train, rather than air transport
  • Maintaining the number of units transported per shipment above a certain threshold to avoid having to resort to several packaging and transport operations for the same order
  • Limitation of the use of plastic bags for packaging accessories (cables, charger, etc.)
  • Development of a functionality of on-demand video services allowing the end user to voluntarily restrict the bandwidth used, thus reducing the solicitation of servers and the network, and their energy consumption

Social Achievements

  • Netgem places human aspects at the heart of its operations by favoring social dialogue and balanced social relations, and by associating its employees with capital through various participatory methods (free shares, company savings plan, profit-sharing plan, participation agreement)
  • Regularly informing employee representative bodies and employees of actions taken to promote the positive evolution of gender equality within the Group
  • Specific actions with associations promoting gender equality in digital sector companies have been initiated and will be developed during the year. The same is true for associations promoting the employment of people with disabilities in order to promote the integration of these employees within Netgem
  • The Group allows its employees to telework regularly at the rate of 2 days per week (this frequency can be adapted depending on the different health protocols that may be in force)
  • Annual individual performance appraisal interviews for 100% of the workforce, allowing in particular to take stock of the professional skills of each employee, to identify areas for improvement and to discuss objectives for the future, and also to discuss training needs and consider professional development wishes for each employee

Environmental Challenges

  • Tensions on the availability of components

  • Risk of customer churn (depending on competitive pressure)
  • Risk of concentration (48.2% of turnover from the five main customers in 2021)
Mitigation Strategies
  • Netgem has obtained price adjustments from its customers to preserve the profitability of contracts and continues to closely control its cost structure
  • The client park of Origin was taken over in October by Talk Talk thus allowing to continue the invoicing
  • Regular monitoring of customer ratings and, in some cases, taking out risk cover
